A community that supports one another
Rhenish Primary School is part of a generous and supportive community, and we are deeply appreciative of the families who contribute to and uplift our outreach initiatives.
Many of our projects are made possible through this ongoing support, creating opportunities to extend care beyond the school and into the wider community.
Learning through involvement
Community outreach at Rhenish is not only about giving, but also about learning through participation.
Learners are encouraged to be actively involved in projects, gaining an understanding of empathy, responsibility, and the value of contributing in practical ways.
Our projects and partnerships
We are committed to building meaningful relationships with organisations in the Stellenbosch area.
Our partnership with Dorothea Special School continues to grow and strengthen, now in its third year. Through this connection, learners are able to engage and contribute in ways that build understanding and connection.
Our Grade 7 learners also take part in outreach through the Pebbles Project Aftercare facilities on nearby farms, where they spend time interacting with younger children and contributing to their daily activities.
Ongoing initiatives
Throughout the year, the school supports a number of initiatives, including:
- Collection of second-hand clothing, sports kit, and books for the Stellenbosch Youth Centre and Dorothea Special School
- Participation in Reach for a Dream Slipper Day
- Various community-focused drives and projects
These initiatives provide practical ways for learners and families to contribute and take part.
Charity begins at home
While reaching out to the broader community is important, we also recognise the value of supporting one another within the school.
A culture of care, respect, and awareness begins within our own environment and forms the foundation for meaningful engagement beyond it.
